Parking in Figueira da Foz is refreshingly easy by Portuguese beach-town standards – a huge paid lot right on the sand at Praia da Claridade (about €0.80/hour, capped at €8/day), metered streets that go free on weekday evenings and most of the weekend, and genuinely free streets a few blocks back from the front. This guide covers the zones, the apps and the local tricks for 2026.
Tip: if you also need car rental in Figueira da Foz, our guide compares the operators and typical rates – and a smaller car makes these parking zones far less stressful.

Praia da Claridade – one of the widest urban beaches in Europe – has a large surface lot along the esplanade. At roughly €0.80 per hour with an €8 daily cap, it's the simplest option for a beach day. Better still, charging stops outside enforcement hours: from Saturday midday until Monday 08:00 it's effectively free, as are weekday evenings from 18:00.

Beachfront-lot tariff (Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00, Sat until 12:00); the daily charge is capped at about 8 € — the estimate applies that cap. Evenings and most of the weekend are free.
Central streets near the esplanade, casino and market are metered during the day. Pay at the machines or – much easier – use the Telpark or Via Verde Estacionar apps, which let you top up remotely instead of running back to the meter. Outside the marked paid zones, a few blocks inland, street parking is free; that's where locals leave their cars for the day.

For a covered space – worth it in winter storms or for overnight security – the garages around the casino and town centre run 24/7 with standard hourly and daily rates. Motorhomes have a dedicated aire near the marina rather than the beachfront lot, which is enforced for cars.
The big beachfront lot charges about €0.80 per hour with a daily cap of around €8, enforced Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00 and Saturday 08:00–12:00.
Generally from Saturday midday right through to Monday 08:00, plus weekday evenings after enforcement ends (~18:00–19:00). Streets outside the marked paid zones are always free.
Telpark and Via Verde Estacionar both cover Figueira da Foz – handy for extending your time without walking back to the meter.
The seafront fills by late morning in July–August. Arrive early, or park a few blocks inland on the free streets and walk – everything along the front is flat and close.
No – the beach lot is for cars. Motorhomes should use the dedicated aire near the marina, which has services and overnight permission.
