You can drive right up to the Alhambra – but only by the right road. The official car park beside the entrance is open 24 hours and is reached via the Ronda Sur ring road (A-395); the operator lists about €2.20 per hour and guides quote a daily maximum of about €21.70. The city centre, the Albaicín and the Realejo are camera-controlled, and all of Granada has been a low-emission zone with fines since October 2025. The Alhambra has its own public car park, and you do not need a permit to reach it – provided you approach from the ring road and not through the city centre. Granada’s historic districts are protected by camera-controlled streets, and the whole municipality is a low-emission zone.

Public, guarded car park next to the main entrance pavilion, with separate areas for cars and for coaches and motorhomes. The Alhambra’s own visitor information gives a capacity of 360 vehicles. It is operated by Indigo and can be booked online.
Rates quoted by local guides are somewhat higher than the operator’s indicative tariff (up to about €3.25 per hour), so check the price shown when you book or at the barrier. For a typical three- to four-hour visit, budget roughly €7–13.
If you are staying in Granada, it is often easier to leave the car in a city car park and take the minibus up the hill. These are listed on Parclick or by local guides with the following rates:

Central car park on Acera del Darro, a short walk from Puerta Real and the C30 bus stop at Plaza Isabel la Católica.
Car park on Avenida de la Constitución, convenient if you arrive from the north or combine the visit with the train station.

Since 1 October 2025 the ZBE covers the entire municipality, 24 hours a day. Restricted are vehicles without a DGT environmental label that are not registered in Granada; cars with a B, C, ECO or 0 label circulate freely. The fine is €200 (€100 if paid early). Spanish rental cars carry a label. If you bring a foreign-registered car, check the rules with Granada city council before travelling, as foreign plates have no DGT label.

Regulated hours are Monday to Friday 09:00–14:00 and 16:30–20:30 (17:00–21:00 from mid-June to mid-September) and Saturday 09:00–14:00; Sundays and public holidays are free. All three colours are open to visitors. Pay at the meter or with the ElParking, Imbric or Mowiz apps. Street bays are not practical for an Alhambra visit, which easily lasts longer than the permitted stay.
Minibus C30 links Plaza Isabel la Católica with the Alhambra about every 12 minutes, and C32 connects the Alhambra with the Albaicín about every 10 minutes. A single ticket costs well under €2 and can be paid by card on board.
