Since 12 January 2026 the Grand Place de Lille is fully pedestrianised – cars can no longer cross, but the underground Indigo Grand Place car park remains open via the rue Nationale entrance. On-street zones are colour-coded (Yellow for the hypercentre at €2/h up to €35 max, Green and Azur outside it), tariffed Mon–Sat 09:00–19:00 and free on Sundays and French holidays. Best 24h garages within walking distance: Indigo Grand Place (under the square), Effia Lille Nouveau Siecle (24h, 2.30 m), Effia Opera and Effia Republique. Free Park & Ride at Champ-de-Mars connects via metro line 1 to Rihour for €1.80 (~$1.96). Foreign-plated cars need a Crit'Air vignette (€3.81) for the Lille metropolitan ZFE.
