Gare Montparnasse, the terminus of the TGV lines to Brittany, the Loire and the south-west, sits on the border of the 14th and 15th arrondissements. Two EFFIA car parks serve the station directly, a third car park (Océane) is on Avenue du Maine, and an Indigo car park is a few streets away. Street parking exists but is priced for short stops: a visitor pays €4 for the first hour and €50 for six hours.

Tariffs as published by the operators and checked in October 2026. The height limit in the EFFIA and Indigo car parks is 1.90 m, and all three offer electric-vehicle charging.
On the eastern side of the station, by Place de Catalogne. EFFIA is the parking subsidiary linked to the French railways, and this is the car park with the fullest published price list: €2.20 for 15 minutes, €3.50 for 30 minutes, €5.30 for an hour, €12.40 for 3 hours, €21.70 for 6 hours, €35.90 for 12 hours, €43.90 for 24 hours and €76.30 for 48 hours.
On the western side of the station, about five minutes on foot from the concourse. Same hourly and 24-hour prices as Catalogne, but closed at night between 01:00 and 05:00.
In Rue Falguière, about eight minutes on foot from the station. Billed by the quarter-hour (€1.30), entry by number-plate recognition, and Indigo advertises reductions of up to 30% when you book online.

Dropping someone off and waiting half an hour: €3.50 at EFFIA Catalogne. A day trip by TGV (12 hours): €35.90. A weekend away (48 hours): €76.30. For anything longer, compare the operators’ online packages before you travel – they are cheaper than the drive-up price.
The City of Paris divides paid street parking into two zones. The station and most of the surrounding streets are in zone 2 (12th to 20th arrondissements); cross Boulevard du Montparnasse into the 6th arrondissement and you are in zone 1, which costs more. Visitors pay from Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 20:00 – including in August – and may stay for six consecutive hours at most. Sundays and public holidays are free. The price rises steeply with each hour:

These are the City of Paris visitor prices for ordinary cars. Heavy vehicles – combustion and hybrid cars over 1.6 tonnes, electric cars over 2 tonnes – pay three times as much: €12 per hour in zone 2 and €18 in zone 1, or €150 and €225 for six hours. Many SUVs and large rental cars fall into this category.
The city lists two apps for street parking, PayByPhone and EasyPark; Flowbird stopped working in Paris on 4 July 2026. Parking meters remain in service and accept bank cards. Enter your number plate carefully – checks are done by plate, not by a ticket on the dashboard.
Paris lies inside the Greater Paris low-emission zone, for which vehicles need a Crit’Air sticker. In principle the oldest categories are banned on weekdays, but according to French press reports the Métropole du Grand Paris is not issuing penalties in 2026. Rental cars picked up in France normally carry the sticker; if you arrive in a foreign-registered car, order it online before the trip. The separate limited-traffic zone in the centre of Paris covers the 1st to 4th arrondissements and does not include Montparnasse.
