The closest car park to the Eiffel Tower is Saemes Quai Branly – Tour Eiffel, about five minutes’ walk away: €5.10 for one hour, €15.40 for three hours or €39.20 for 24 hours in 2026. Street parking in the 7th arrondissement costs €6 an hour (€18 for heavy cars and SUVs), with a six-hour limit, and is free only on Sundays and public holidays, not in August. Do you need a car? Not for central Paris: metro line 6 and RER C take you right to the tower. A car makes sense for Versailles, Giverny, the Loire castles or Champagne. The Eiffel Tower is in the 7th arrondissement, part of Paris parking zone 1 (the 1st to 11th arrondissements). There is no car park run by the tower itself. The nearest public car park is Saemes Quai Branly – Tour Eiffel under the Musée du Quai Branly; a few more garages around the Champ de Mars can be booked on Parclick. Street parking is expensive and limited to six hours for visitors, so for a visit with a climb a garage is usually the better choice.

This underground car park sits beneath the Musée du Quai Branly at 25 quai Jacques Chirac, on the river side of the tower. The official Eiffel Tower website puts it at just over five minutes’ walk from entrance 2. It has 543 spaces, is open 24 hours a day, takes cars and motorbikes up to 1.90 m and has electric-vehicle charging points.

A typical tower visit with the summit takes three hours or more, which costs €15.40 here. Saemes also sells 3-day (€89.20) and 5-day (€126.10) passes for longer stays in Paris. Check two things before you book: the height limit (1.9 m in all of these) and whether the space is guaranteed. At Indigo car parks a booking gives no entry priority, so on a busy day you may wait for a space.
Staffed garage at 133 rue Saint-Dominique, east of the Champ de Mars. Open every day from 6:00 to midnight, height limit 1.9 m. You hand your keys to the staff, who park the car and return it when you leave, so it is not suitable if you need to come back late at night. Underground Indigo car park at 2 place Joffre, at the École Militaire end of the Champ de Mars; the walk to the tower takes you across the whole park. Open 24 hours, height limit 1.9 m, entry by number-plate recognition. Parclick showed prices from €4.91 for one hour. The space is not guaranteed. See INDIGO Joffre École Militaire on Parclick.
Car park at 65 avenue Kléber (listed on Parclick as both Indigo and Urbis Park) in the 16th arrondissement, on the Trocadéro side of the river. From here you walk through the Trocadéro gardens and over the Pont d’Iéna to the tower, which also gives you the classic photo viewpoint. Parclick showed prices from €10.54 for two hours. Pullman Tour Eiffel car park. The hotel car park on avenue de Suffren is also open to the public and the Eiffel Tower website lists it as a nearby option, but it cannot be booked on Parclick and we could not find an official price list, so we do not quote one.
Paris street parking is paid from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 20:00, and free on Sundays and public holidays. August is not free: the City of Paris states that parking is paid in August too. Visitors in zone 1 pay €6 an hour for the first two hours, and the price rises steeply after that. You may not stay longer than six consecutive hours in the same space.

Heavy-car tariff. It applies to petrol and hybrid cars weighing over 1,600 kg and to electric cars over 2,000 kg (box G of the registration document). Many rental SUVs and large estates fall into this group.
How to pay. Use the street meters (bank card) or the PayByPhone, EasyPark or Indigo Neo apps. Flowbird stopped working for Paris parking on 4 July 2026. Enter your number plate; there is no ticket to leave on the dashboard.
Where it is free. Only on Sundays and public holidays. The neighbouring 15th arrondissement is in zone 2, which has a lower tariff, but it is not free on other days either. There is no free park and ride near the tower.
Bir-Hakeim (metro line 6) is the closest station, under ten minutes’ walk from the tower, and Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel on RER C is about five minutes away. Trocadéro (line 9) and École Militaire (line 8) are the alternatives, and buses 30, 42 and 82 stop nearby. A single ticket costs €2.55. Line 6 works: Bir-Hakeim is closed on Sunday 18 October, Sunday 8 November and Sunday 22 November 2026; use Trocadéro or École Militaire on those days.
Paris is inside the Grand Paris low-emission zone (ZFE). On paper, cars rated Crit’Air 3, 4, 5 or unclassified may not drive there from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 20:00. In December 2025 the Métropole du Grand Paris and the City of Paris confirmed that there would be no fines during 2026, and a national law to scrap the zones was struck down by the Conseil constitutionnel in May 2026, so the rules remain. Every car, including foreign ones, needs a Crit’Air sticker; order it only from the official certificat-air.gouv.fr site.
