Parking in Colmar is cheap if you use the municipal car parks: the first hour is free in all of them, Saint-Josse and Gare/Bleylé charge €3 for a whole day, and the upper levels of Lacarre are free from 7:00 to 1:00. Street parking costs €2 an hour in the orange zone and €1.50 in the green zone, and is free at lunchtime, after 19:00, on Sundays and on public holidays. Do you need a car? Not for Colmar itself: the old town is compact and walkable. A car is worth it for the Alsace Wine Route villages such as Eguisheim, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg, or for Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. Colmar has two paid street zones: orange in and around the old town and green further out. Street parking is paid Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00, so the lunch break, evenings, Sundays and public holidays are free. The six municipal car parks are the better deal for visitors: the first hour is free in all of them, and four charge only €3 for a whole day.

Car park prices are the City of Colmar tariffs; the Parclick price is the lowest shown on 16 October 2026 and the price for your dates appears before you pay.
All six car parks are run by the city and share one rule: if you leave within an hour, you pay nothing. After that there are two price models. Rapp, Mairie and Montagne Verte charge by time, the others charge a flat €3 for the day.

A three-hour visit costs €5.70 at Rapp or Mairie (€3.60 for the first 1 h 15, plus seven quarter-hours at €0.30) and €6.30 on an orange-zone street. At Saint-Josse or Gare/Bleylé it is €3 however long you stay, and on the upper levels of Lacarre it is free during the day. Full tariffs: City of Colmar parking page.
Multi-storey car park on rue du Quartier Lacarre, a short walk from the Unterlinden Museum and the old town. On the upper levels (0 to 8) parking is free from 7:00 to 1:00; only a car left there between 1:00 and 7:00 pays €3. The lower levels (−1 to −4) are for long stays and overnight parking at €3 per day. Open Monday to Saturday 7:00 to 1:00 and on Sundays and public holidays 13:00 to 20:00, so check the closing time before you plan an evening out.
With 900 spaces, Rapp is the biggest car park in Colmar; the entrance is on boulevard du Champ de Mars, next to the park of the same name. It is open 24 hours. Daytime parking is free for an hour, €3.60 up to 1 h 15 and then €0.30 per quarter-hour; in the evening and at night (19:00 to 7:00) it costs €1.00 after the free hour, then €0.20 per quarter-hour.
Saint-Josse (487 spaces) and the station car park Gare/Bleylé (803 spaces) both charge a flat €3 for up to 24 hours after a free first hour. They are the best choice if you want to spend the whole day in town or drive on to the wine villages in the evening. Gare/Bleylé is next to Colmar station, about 15 minutes’ walk from the old town.
The only Colmar car park on Parclick: an underground hotel car park at 15 rue Stanislas, a few minutes’ walk from Petite Venise and the Unterlinden Museum. Open 24 hours with a guaranteed space and a 2.1 m height limit; the gate opens from the Parclick app. Parclick showed prices from €1.50 for two hours, with free cancellation up to one hour before arrival. Street parking is paid in two blocks, 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 19:00, from Monday to Saturday. The minimum charge is €0.50. Prices rise faster in the orange zone, and in both zones the eighth hour costs a punitive €35 in total, so a street space only makes sense for short stops.

How to pay. Use the street meter or the PayByPhone or EasyPark apps. Some spaces, such as delivery bays and short-stay spaces marked with a blue disc sign, need a European parking disc showing your arrival time.
Blue zone. The blue zones around the station (gare Est, gare Ouest) and rue Thomas are meant for residents with a permit, so visitors should not rely on them.
Where it is free. Every street space is free from 12:00 to 14:00, from 19:00 to 9:00, on Sundays and on public holidays. In the car parks the first hour is always free, and the upper levels of Lacarre are free all day.
The Colmar Christmas markets run from 23 November to 29 December 2026. During that period the historic centre is closed to all vehicles from Monday to Thursday 11:00–19:00 and from Friday to Sunday 10:00–20:00.

On market weekends the park and ride buses leave every 10 minutes from 9:30 and stop at 23 rue Saint-Éloi in the centre; there is no shuttle on 26 and 27 December. Details: Noël à Colmar practical information.
Campervans may park during the day on rue de la Cavalerie (20 spaces) and rue Henry Wilhelm (16 spaces) at the green-zone rate. For overnight stays the city lists two aires at the marina (port de plaisance): Onlypark at €12–16 per 24 hours and the Port de Plaisance aire at €19–23, depending on the season, plus tourist tax. Coaches drop off and park at the Lacarre coach area or on rue de la Cavalerie, about ten minutes’ walk from the old town.

Petite Venise and the old town streets are mostly pedestrian. Park at Rapp, Mairie or Lacarre and walk. During the Christmas markets the whole historic centre is closed to vehicles for most of the day.
On weekends, use the park and ride at the Parc des Expositions (€5 per day including the return bus). On weekdays, park at Gare/Bleylé for €3 and take the free shuttle to Théâtre, which runs every 13 minutes from 9:30 to 19:30.
