Street parking in Bordeaux costs €2.50 for an hour and €6 for two hours since the single tariff came in on 3 August 2026, and the first 30 minutes are free once a day. Streets are free on Sundays, public holidays and outside 9:00 to 19:00, six Metpark car parks are free for two hours at weekends, and central garages on Parclick start at €2.04 an hour. Do you need a car? Not for central Bordeaux: the old town, the quays and the Chartrons are walkable and the tram covers the rest. A car pays off for day trips to Saint-Émilion, the Médoc châteaux, Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat. Bordeaux changed its street parking on 3 August 2026. The old red and green zones are gone: there is now one visitor tariff for every paid street, which covers all streets inside the boulevards, plus La Bastide and the streets by the Parc Bordelais in Caudéran. Parking is paid from 9:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday, and every car gets 30 free minutes once a day. At weekends, six Metpark car parks near the boulevards are free for the first two hours.

Street prices are the City of Bordeaux visitor tariff; Parclick prices are the lowest shown on 17 October 2026, and the price for your dates appears before you pay.
The new grid is billed by the half-hour and gets steep after two hours. On the street you can stay at most 4 hours 15 minutes, and the last quarter-hour costs as much as the €39 fine (FPS), so for anything longer than about two hours a car park is cheaper.

*Heavy cars are petrol, diesel and non-plug-in hybrid cars over 1,600 kg and electric or plug-in hybrid cars over 1,900 kg (box G1 on the registration document). Many SUVs, estates and seven-seaters fall into this category, including rental cars, so check the weight before you pay. If you buy a second ticket on the same day, the free 30 minutes no longer apply and the grid starts at €1.90 for 15 minutes.
How to pay. At a street meter (coins or bank card) or in the EasyPark app. Control is by number plate, so type the plate carefully; you do not need to put the ticket behind the windscreen, but keep it as proof. Disabled drivers. Holders of a French CMI stationnement card park free on any street space, but must either register the car on monstationnement.bordeaux.fr or take a free “PMR ticket” at a meter or in EasyPark and display the card.
Since August 2026 the first two hours are free on Saturdays and Sundays in six city-owned Metpark car parks (about 2,500 spaces in total). They sit near the boulevards, no more than about 10 minutes on foot from a tram stop or the centre. After two hours the normal car park tariff applies.

Bordeaux Métropole’s TBM network runs around 30 park-and-ride car parks (parcs-relais) next to tram stops. They are for people who continue by tram or bus: they open only while the trams run (5:00 to 1:00 Sunday to Wednesday, 5:00 to 2:00 Thursday to Saturday), and a car left outside those hours can be charged €15 per day. The ticket is bought at the P+R machine or on the tram platform and has to be validated on the network the same day to get out.

Height limit is 1.90 m at Stalingrad, Galin and Buttinière. The 2- to 5-day tickets are valid at 11 park-and-rides, including 40 Journaux, Les Pins, Les Aubiers, Pessac Alouette, Lauriers and Floirac Dravemont. Bordeaux Métropole has had a low-emission zone (ZFE) since 1 January 2025. It covers the whole area inside the rocade ring road, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; the rocade itself is outside the zone. Every vehicle driving or parking inside must display a Crit’Air sticker, but only unclassified vehicles are banned: petrol and diesel cars registered before 1 January 1997, motorbikes before 1 June 2000 and vans before 1 October 1997. Cars with Crit’Air 1 to 5 and electric cars may enter. A national law that would have abolished ZFEs was struck down by the Constitutional Council on 21 May 2026, so the zone remains in force.
