Street parking in Busto Arsizio costs €2 an hour in the centre and €1.50 elsewhere, for at most 2 hours, while the town’s AGESP car parks charge €1 an hour with the first 15 minutes free. Paid hours are 8:00–13:00 and 14:30–19:30, so lunchtime and evenings are free, and the AGESP car parks are free on Sundays. The historic centre is a camera-controlled ZTL, so park on its edge. This guide lists every AGESP car park, the free options and Parclick car parks for Malpensa.

✓ UP TO DATELast updated: 18 October 2026
Rewritten from the AGESP tariffs (blue lines €1.50–€2/h, car parks €1/h, lunch break free); corrected the false “no ZTL” claim and the app rule, and removed an unverified garage, invented street prices and fines.

Do you need a car? Not for the town itself: the centre is compact and trains run to Milan and Malpensa. A car pays off for Lake Maggiore, Lake Varese and Como. Most visitors pick up at Malpensa, a short drive away: compare car rental at Milan Malpensa Airport on DiscoverCars, or read our guide to car hire in Italy and the ZTL rules in Italian cities.

How Parking Works in Busto Arsizio in 2026

Parking in Busto Arsizio is run by AGESP, the town’s own company, which manages about 2,290 paid spaces: three multi-storey car parks, a string of barrier car parks around the centre and the blue-line street spaces. The pattern is simple: street parking costs €1.50 to €2 an hour and is limited to 2 hours, while AGESP car parks charge €1 an hour with the first 15 minutes free. Paid hours are 8:00 to 13:00 and 14:30 to 19:30, so the lunch break and evenings cost nothing.

Street Parking: Blue Lines by Area

Blue-line spaces are paid at the meter or by app, in 15-minute steps, and you can stay at most 2 hours. The centre is the dearest area. For a longer visit, use one of the AGESP car parks below, which have no time limit and cost half as much.

Area15 min30 min1 hourMax stay
Area 1€0.70€1.00€2.002 hours
Area 2, historic centre€0.70€1.00€2.002 hours
Area 2, outside the historic centre€0.50€0.75€1.502 hours
Area 3 and hospital zone€0.50€0.75€1.502 hours

Paid hours on the street are 8:00–13:00 and 14:30–19:30. AGESP does not list the paid days for street areas on its tariff page, so read the sign at the meter; its car parks are free on Sundays and public holidays.

How to pay. At the meter, or with the EasyPark, MooneyGo or Telepass app, which charge only the minutes you actually park. If you pay by app, AGESP requires the app’s paper tag (tagliando) to be visible on the dashboard, so a rental car without one should pay at the meter.

Where to Park for Free

There are three reliable ways to park in Busto Arsizio without paying:

  • Outside paid hours: blue lines and AGESP car parks cost nothing from 13:00 to 14:30 and after 19:30.
  • Sundays and public holidays: the AGESP car parks (except Facchinetti, which is closed) are free all day.
  • Via S. Michele: free from Friday to Sunday, and never more than €2 per stay on other days.
  • First 15 minutes are free in most AGESP car parks, enough for a quick errand.

White-line street spaces are free, but we could not find an official map of them, so we do not name streets here. Yellow lines are reserved for residents and permit holders.

ZTL: the Historic Centre Has Camera Gates

Busto Arsizio does have a limited traffic zone (ZTL) in the historic centre around Piazza San Giovanni and Piazza Santa Maria, and it is on the Ministry of Transport’s 2026 list of towns authorised to run one. Cameras watch the gates on Via don Minzoni, Piazza Santa Maria, Via Cardinal Tosi, Via Roma and Via San Gregorio, and the council approved three more on Via Solferino, Vicolo Mariotti and Via Marliani. The town does not publish the ZTL hours online, so treat every gate as active: do not follow the sat-nav through it, and leave the car in an AGESP car park on the edge of the centre, such as Culin, Gavinana or Facchinetti.

If your hotel is inside the zone, ask it to register your plate before you arrive. Rental companies pass ZTL fines on to the driver with an admin fee.

Busto Arsizio and Malpensa Airport

Busto Arsizio is the nearest large town to Milan Malpensa. Trenord’s airport trains between Malpensa and Milano Cadorna stop at Busto Arsizio Nord, and AGESP runs the car parks on Via Monti and Via Ferrucci by that station. For a trip of several days, the shuttle car parks above or the official airport car parks are simpler; our Malpensa airport parking guide compares them.
