Milan’s ATM park-and-ride car parks cost €1.50 for up to 5 hours, €2.00 for 5 to 10 hours and €7.50 for a full 24 hours. The metro ticket is not included: a single costs €2.20. ATM runs 21 car parks by the metro, the largest being Famagosta (2,196 spaces), San Donato (1,941), Lampugnano (1,830) and Bisceglie (1,810). This guide lists each car park with its line, spaces and hours, and explains the Area C charge (€7.50) and the Area B bans you avoid by leaving the car outside the centre.

ATM, the city’s public transport company, runs 21 car parks next to metro, tram and suburban rail stops under the name “Parcheggi + metro”. Seventeen of them are open to occasional visitors at the low interchange tariff; the rest are either priced as city-centre car parks or reserved for season-ticket holders. You take a card at the barrier, park, ride the metro into town and pay at the machine before you drive out. There is nothing to book and the metro ticket is bought separately.

If you leave the car for more than 24 hours, ATM adds up the bands for each further day. The event tariff is applied at the operator’s discretion on match and concert days, and the dates are posted in the car park on the day.

Lines M1 and M3 both stop at Duomo, so Lampugnano, Bisceglie, Molino Dorino, San Donato, Rogoredo and Maciachini take you to the cathedral without a change. From the M2 car parks you change once.
At the two outer M2 car parks, Cologno Nord (651 spaces, Via Pascoli in Cologno Monzese) and Gessate (442 spaces, Via XX Settembre), the tariff is a flat €2.00 a day, and it is charged only on working days between 7:00 and 20:00. Both are open 24 hours. They lie outside the city, so check the fare zone for the metro ticket before you travel.
San Leonardo (M1, 324 spaces, Via Falck), Quarto Oggiaro (Trenord station, 24 spaces) and Molinetto di Lorenteggio (terminus of tram 14, 134 spaces) charge €1.50 for up to 5 hours, €2.00 for 5 to 10 hours and €2.50 beyond that, on working days from 7:00 to 20:00 only. San Leonardo is closed on Saturdays for the weekly market.
Most of the large interchange car parks, among them Lampugnano, Bisceglie, Molino Dorino, Famagosta, Cascina Gobba, San Donato, Rogoredo and Maciachini, open from 05:30 to 01:00 on working days and from 06:00 to 01:00 on public holidays. ATM is explicit that a car cannot be collected while the car park is closed, and that the tariff keeps running overnight. Abbiategrasso, Bovio and Forlanini are open 24 hours.
The car parks are unattended. ATM states that it accepts no liability for theft or damage, so leave nothing visible in the car. Vehicles displaying a disabled badge park free in the reserved bays.

Lampugnano, Forlanini and Rogoredo lie inside Area B. Drivers of vehicles that are otherwise banned from Area B can apply online to ATM for a derogation to reach these three car parks.
ATM car park with 943 spaces at the M2 and M3 station of Centrale, open 24 hours. It is priced as a central car park: €2.00 for each of the first eight hours, €36.40 for 24 hours, and a weekend special of €37.00 from Friday 12:00 to Monday 02:00.
Car park with 331 spaces at Viale Cassiodoro 9, by CityLife. It charges by the hour: €1.50 for one hour, €2.50 for two, €3.10 for three and €0.50 for every further hour. Open 05:30 to 01:00 on working days and from 06:00 on holidays.
Romolo (M2, 245 spaces) accepts existing season-ticket holders only and no occasional parking. Lodi (M3, 61 spaces) is entered with keys and a remote control. Neither is of use to visitors.
Area C is the limited-traffic zone of the historic centre, inside the Cerchia dei Bastioni. It is active from Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 19:30, and not on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. The daily ticket costs €7.50 for all vehicles and lets you drive in and out as often as you like that day. If you park in a garage inside Area C, the ticket bought in the garage costs €4.50. A forgotten ticket can still be paid within seven days at €22.50. Some cars may not enter at all: petrol cars up to Euro 3 and diesel cars up to Euro 5 are banned, and petrol Euro 4 follows on 1 October 2027.
Area B covers most of the city and is active on the same days and hours. There is no charge, but the most polluting vehicles are banned: petrol cars up to Euro 2 and diesel cars up to Euro 5 already, and petrol Euro 3 since 1 October 2025. In the first year of a ban each vehicle gets 50 days of free access; from 1 October 2026 every vehicle gets five days a year after that, without registration. The Comune di Milano has an online checker where you enter your number plate and country to see whether your car may enter.

You can also tap a contactless bank card at the metro gates instead of buying a paper ticket. For two adults on a day visit, park-and-ride comes to €2.00 for the car and €8.80 for four single tickets, €10.80 in total. Driving into Area C costs €7.50 for the ticket alone, before any parking.
Not at the main interchange car parks, where the tariff runs at all hours. The exceptions are Cologno Nord, Gessate, San Leonardo, Quarto Oggiaro and Molinetto di Lorenteggio: they charge on working days from 7:00 to 20:00 only, so evenings, Sundays and public holidays cost nothing there. Disabled badge holders park free in the reserved bays of every ATM car park.

Area B bans petrol cars up to Euro 3 and diesel cars up to Euro 5 on weekdays from 7:30 to 19:30. Check your number plate on the Comune di Milano website before you travel. ATM offers a derogation for drivers heading to the Lampugnano, Forlanini and Rogoredo car parks.
Not for the city, where the metro is faster. A car pays off for Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Bergamo and the Alps. Most visitors collect one at Malpensa or Linate airport on the day they leave Milan.
