The easiest place to park for Via Veneto is SABA Villa Borghese on Viale del Muro Torto, outside the ZTL: €2.50 for the first hour, €3 for each extra hour and €25 for a full day in 2026. Bookable garages on Via Sicilia and Via Sardegna start at €8 for one hour, and blue street bays cost €1.00 per hour outside the ZTL. The lower end of Via Veneto towards Piazza Barberini is inside the Centro Storico ZTL (Mon–Fri 6:30–18:00, Sat 14:00–18:00), so do not drive there without a permit.

Ludovisi is the district around Via Vittorio Veneto, between Piazza Barberini and the Aurelian Walls at Porta Pinciana, with Villa Borghese just beyond the walls. It sits on the edge of the Centro Storico ZTL, the camera-controlled zone closed to cars without a permit. The southern end, towards Piazza Barberini, is inside it: the zone has camera gates on Via Vittorio Veneto, Via Francesco Crispi and Via di San Basilio. The upper part of the district, around Via Sicilia, Via Sardegna and Corso d’Italia, is outside, and so is the large SABA car park under Villa Borghese. The safe plan is to park there or in one of the garages north of Via Boncompagni and walk down Via Veneto.

Partly. The Centro Storico ZTL covers the lower end of the district towards Piazza Barberini, and its camera gates on Via Vittorio Veneto, Via Francesco Crispi and Via di San Basilio mark the edge. Garages in the upper part of Ludovisi (Via Sicilia, Via Sardegna, Corso d’Italia) and SABA Villa Borghese state that they are outside the ZTL. Roma Mobilità publishes the exact boundary only on an interactive map, so if your hotel is near Piazza Barberini or on lower Via Veneto, check the map or ask the hotel before you drive.

Hotel guests: Roma Mobilità publishes no general procedure for registering a guest’s plate. If your hotel is inside the ZTL, ask it before you arrive whether it can do this; if not, park at Villa Borghese. Our guide to parking in the Rome ZTL explains the zones and permits in more detail.
This underground car park lies under Villa Borghese with its entrance on Viale del Muro Torto. It has about 1,800 spaces, is open 24 hours a day and is outside the ZTL. Covered walkways with escalators and moving walkways lead towards Via Veneto and Piazza di Spagna. Height limit 2.1 m; cars running on LPG are not allowed in.

From 8 December to 6 January the hourly rate from the second hour is €4. For a three-hour visit on a weekday you pay €8.50; after eight hours the €25 day rate applies. Note that the Parclick listing for this car park currently says it does not accept bookings because of works until the end of the year. Several small staffed garages operated by MUOVIAMO sit just north of Via Veneto and outside the ZTL. In all of them you hand the keys to the staff, who park the car. Parclick showed prices from €8 for one hour on 17 October 2026.

Parclick states it is outside the ZTL; height limit 2.2 m; keys stay with the staff, whose listed hours are 8:00 to 20:00. Bookings can be changed or cancelled up to one hour before arrival. SABA Autosilo Via Mantova. A 420-space multi-storey car park at Via Mantova 24 near Porta Pia, open 24 hours, height 2.1 m. It costs €6 per hour for the first three hours, €4 per hour from the fourth to the eighth and €38 per day, so it is dearer than Villa Borghese for a full day. Tariffs on SABA.
Arriving by train? Garages near Termini, about 15 to 20 minutes’ walk from Via Veneto, start at €6 for one hour on Parclick: Garage Nazionale (Via Napoli 35) and Parking Esedra (Via Modena 10).
ATAC sets one blue-line tariff for the whole city: €1.00 per hour outside the ZTLs and €1.20 per hour inside them. Cheaper options apply everywhere: €0.20 for 15 minutes (meters only), €4 for 8 hours in a row and €70 for a calendar month. Pay at the meter or with an ATAC partner app; the paid hours are shown on the sign and the meter. Electric and hybrid cars, car-sharing cars and residents with a permit do not pay in blue bays.
Free parking: white bays are free, but in the city’s paid-parking areas a parking disc limits non-residents to three hours, and in Ludovisi most kerbside space is blue lines or reserved for residents. There is no free car park near Via Veneto. The cheapest all-day option is a park-and-ride: Cipro (Via Angelo Emo, Metro A) costs €2 for 12 hours, and Metro A runs from there to Spagna and Barberini, the two stations for the district. Yellow bays are reserved; never park on them.
Via Veneto cafés and hotels: MUOVIAMO Veneto on Via Sicilia or SABA Villa Borghese, both a few minutes from the top of the street.
Galleria Borghese: SABA Villa Borghese, then walk through the park.
Spanish Steps and Trinità dei Monti: SABA Villa Borghese; the covered walkway brings you out near Piazza di Spagna. The square itself is in the Tridente ZTL.
Piazza Barberini and the Trevi Fountain: do not drive there; walk down Via Veneto from a garage in upper Ludovisi.

Under the Italian highway code, driving into a ZTL without a permit costs €83 to €332 per offence. The notice comes by post, often through the rental company.
Not freely any more. Since 1 July 2026 electric and hydrogen cars need a permit; registering the plate is no longer enough. Electric cars still park free in blue bays.
