Parking in Segovia — Roman Aqueduct and medieval old town with blue P parking sign

All locations

Parking in Segovia is built around the historic centre's ORA system with blue zones at €0.95-1.40 / $1.04-1.53 per hour and green zones reserved for residents. The Roman Aqueduct itself is car-free; the closest covered car park is Acueducto, while the cheapest options sit by Estación Guiomar (AVE) and the outskirts of San Lorenzo.

How Segovia's parking zones work

The city is small but tightly regulated. ORA enforcement runs Monday-Friday 09:30-14:00 and 16:30-20:00, plus Saturday 09:30-14:00. Sundays and public holidays are free in all ORA zones. The Casco Histórico (old town) is partially pedestrianised and limited to residents and authorised vehicles.

ORA Green (residents)GreenRestricted to residents

Common trap: the streets right by the Aqueduct (Calle de Cervantes, Calle de Juan Bravo) look like normal blue zones but are mostly resident-only after 18:00. The fine for parking there as a visitor is €60 / $65.

Visitors should aim for the official car parks just outside the old town. Walk-in from any of them to the Aqueduct is under 10 minutes.

Real ratings (Google Maps): Saba Acueducto 4.2 / 5 (~450 reviews), EMPARK Plaza Mayor 4.0 / 5, Parking Guiomar 4.4 / 5. The biggest praise across all three: secure, easy to navigate, clean toilets at the bigger lots.

Covered vs open: Saba Acueducto, EMPARK Plaza Mayor and Parking Guiomar are covered underground. Padre Claret and Estación Autobuses are open-air — fine in spring and autumn, painful in July-August heat.

Free parking in Segovia

Free street parking is plentiful if you're willing to walk 10-15 minutes. Three districts are worth knowing.

San Lorenzo

North of the Aqueduct, residential area with abundant free street parking. 12 minutes' walk to the centre.

Around the Alcázar (Calle Doctor Marañón)

A few free spaces around the Alcázar's outer wall, especially on weekdays. Limited but free.

Paseo de Ezequiel González (outer ring)

The road that loops around the historic centre. Free parking on the outer kerb, 10-15 minutes' walk to anywhere in the old town.

Local tip: on weekends arrive before 10:30 if you want a free spot near the Alcázar — by midday the closest streets fill up with day trippers from Madrid.

How to pay for street parking

Two methods work well in Segovia: third-party apps (TelPark, ElParking) or the coin parquímetros on each block.

TelPark — most common in Segovia

Owned by EMPARK and the dominant app locally. Register, link your plate and a card, then pay through the app. No surcharge most of the time.

ElParking and EasyPark

Work across Spain. Both add €0.15-0.20 / $0.16-0.22 per session. Convenient if you travel between Spanish cities.

Parquímetros (coin meters)

All blocks have a physical meter. Coins only — no card, no notes. Take the printed ticket and place it visibly inside the windshield.

Avoid the coin trap: some meters in the old town are notoriously sticky. If yours rejects coins, walk to the next block — there's always another one within 80 m.

Parking by neighbourhood

Aqueduct (Acueducto)

Mostly pedestrian. Park in Saba Acueducto or in San Lorenzo and walk in.

Plaza Mayor and Cathedral

EMPARK Plaza Mayor lets you out 50 m from the cathedral. Best for a quick visit.

Alcázar district

Limited resident-only streets. Use Saba Acueducto or the free spaces along Paseo Ezequiel González.

San Millán / Estación Bus

Open-air lots and free street parking. 10-12 minutes' walk to centre.

Estación Guiomar (AVE)

For train arrivals: park underneath the station and take bus 11 to the centre.

Heads-up: ignore anyone in unofficial vest who offers to “watch your car” for €2-3 / $2-3 — pay the meter or app instead. Real attendants only work inside the official lots.

Quick parking tips

  • Download TelPark before you arrive — fastest way to pay
  • Sundays and Spanish holidays are free in ORA Blue
  • Pre-book via Parclick for 20-30 % off counter rate
  • San Lorenzo and Padre Claret have ample free spaces
  • If train-bound: Estación Guiomar parking + bus 11 is cheapest
  • Don't drive into Casco Histórico — restricted to residents and may carry fines
  • Don't park on yellow kerbs (loading / driveway)
  • Don't ignore the 2-hour blue limit — repeated fines stack
  • Don't accept “watch your car” offers from random people
  • Don't park at the Alcázar viewpoint after dusk — it gets ticketed regularly

2026 update

In April 2026 the Segovia city council expanded ORA to two additional streets near San Millán and introduced 0-emission EV-free parking in blue zones (capped at 2 hours). The TelPark app now supports Apple Pay and Google Pay.

FAQ — Parking in Segovia

Yes — all ORA zones are free on Sundays and Spanish public holidays. Saturday afternoon (after 14:00) is also free.

The closest covered car park is Saba Acueducto (3 minutes' walk). For free options, head to San Lorenzo or the outer ring on Paseo Ezequiel González.

Parking Estación AVE Guiomar at around €12 / $13 per day, with a quick bus 11 to the centre.

No, the Casco Histórico is restricted to residents and authorised vehicles. Park in any of the covered car parks outside and walk in.

TelPark, owned by EMPARK, is the most widely used in Segovia. ElParking and EasyPark also work but add a small session fee.

It's safe but not always legal — the outer streets are technically pay-and-display. Use Saba Acueducto for a guaranteed legal overnight spot.

Before you park — quick checklist

  • Confirm the day and time — Sundays and holidays are free
  • Avoid the Casco Histórico unless you have a permit
  • Have TelPark installed before you arrive
  • Pre-book Saba Acueducto online for the cheapest centre rate
  • If train-bound: park at Guiomar, take bus 11
