Street parking in Girona costs €1.20 an hour in 2026, with a two-hour maximum of €2.40, and it is free on Sundays and public holidays. For a full day use a car park: Saba Estación by the railway station from €9.95 a day, or SABA Berenguer i Carnicer next to the old town from €14.90 on Parclick. Girona City Council runs two kinds of regulated street parking. The blue zone (zona blava, 863 bays) is open to everyone for up to two hours. The green zone (zona verda, 1,455 bays) gives residents cheap long stays, while visitors pay the same as in the blue zone and also have a two-hour limit. Neither zone sells day tickets, so for a full day you need one of the underground car parks around the old town. The Barri Vell itself is mostly pedestrian, and since September 2025 a low-emission zone covers the centre on weekdays.

The current tariff has applied since 24 June 2024. In the blue zone everyone pays €1.20 per hour, charged in small steps from a minimum of €0.35, up to the two-hour maximum of €2.40. Visitors in the green zone pay the same €1.20 per hour, minimum €0.40, also for at most two hours. Outside the hours below, parking in both zones is free.

You can pay at the meters, which take coins, chip cards and contactless cards, or in the free Aparcar app, which charges only for the time you actually park and also works in Tarragona, Reus, Salou and Cambrils. A car may not stay in the same space for more than 72 hours.
Girona has around a dozen public car parks; the city lists nine that take short-stay visitors, among them SABA at Plaça Pompeu Fabra (444 spaces) and Plaça Berenguer Carnisser (427), Empark at Plaça Santa Eugènia (345) and the car parks at Emili Grahit (326) and Plaça Miquel de Palol (218). The easiest free parking is on Sundays and public holidays, when neither the blue nor the green zone is paid. On other days both zones are free outside their hours, which in the general blue zone includes the lunchtime gap from 13:00 to 16:00 and every evening after 20:00. Streets without blue or green markings are free too, but they are mostly away from the centre.
On market days, Tuesday and Saturday from 8:00 to 14:00, the first two hours are free in the surface car park in the Güell–Devesa green zone, including the Riu Güell area between the Rellotge and Devesa roundabouts. You still need a ticket from the meter there. Older guides recommend free parking along the edge of the Devesa park, but this area became part of the paid Güell–Devesa green zone in November 2024.
Girona’s low-emission zone has been in force since 15 September 2025. It applies Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, from 7:00 to 20:00, and covers the centre from the Devesa park to Carrer d’Emili Grahit and from the Güell river to Carrer del Carme, including the Barri Vell. Cars with a DGT 0, ECO, C or B label may enter. Cars without a label may enter on up to 24 days per calendar year without any authorisation; after that, entering without permission can be fined (€200 according to the RACE motoring club). Cameras read number plates, so there is no sticker to buy.
