FAQ

Is the motorway from Barcelona to Valencia still tolled?
No – the AP-7 south of Tarragona has been free since January 2020, and Barcelona–Tarragona since September 2021. The whole run is now free.
How much is the Costa del Sol toll?
Málaga–Estepona on the AP-7 costs 9.55 € in low season and 15.50 € in high season (June–September and Easter, 2026 tariffs). The parallel A-7 is free but much slower in summer.
Does Spain have a vignette?
No. Spain charges per-use tolls only on the remaining concession motorways; everything else is free.
What is Via-T?
An electronic transponder accepted on all Spanish tolls – drive through dedicated lanes without stopping. Some banks and clubs issue it; rentals rarely include it.
