Sanlúcar de Barrameda – manzanilla capital, gateway to Doñana and home of the August horse races on the beach – is one of the few Andalusian towns without a paid blue zone. Street parking is free where signs allow it, and the underground Parking La Calzada (€2.15 per hour, open 24 hours) is the reliable option between the centre and the beach. This guide covers where to park for the centre, the bodegas, Bajo de Guía and the Doñana boat, and what to expect on race days.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda Overview
Unlike most Andalusian towns of its size, Sanlúcar has no pay-and-display blue zone that we could confirm: the local police said in December 2024 that a zona azul had still not been introduced. Street parking is therefore free wherever the signs allow it – the difficulty is finding a space, especially near the beach in summer.

| Option | Cost | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Street parking (white bays, unmarked streets) | Free | No time limit unless a sign says otherwise; very busy near La Calzada and Bajo de Guía in summer |
| Parking La Calzada (underground, Indigo) | €2.15 per hour | Open 24 hours, height limit 2.1 m, can be booked online |
| Yellow lines, loading bays, garage entrances | No parking | Towing is common |
There is one large public car park in the centre; the rest of the town relies on street parking.
Underground car park run by Indigo under the Calzada avenue, between the town centre and the beach. Entry by number-plate recognition; spaces can be reserved on the operator’s website.
Street parking along the riverside avenue next to the seafood restaurants and the Doñana visitor centre. Spaces are in very high demand at lunchtime and at weekends.
The residential streets of the upper town, around the Castillo de Santiago and the bodegas, are the usual fallback when the lower town is full. Streets are narrow – a small car helps.
For a couple of hours in the centre or at the beach, La Calzada costs €2.15 per hour and saves you the search. For a long lunch at Bajo de Guía, look for a free space on the avenue before 13:00. In August, expect to walk.
Free bays line the avenue and the streets behind the beach. Out of season you will usually find a space; in July and August they fill by late morning.
Free street parking by the river mouth, convenient for the restaurants and the Doñana boat – and correspondingly busy.
Free street parking in the upper town, a short downhill walk from Plaza del Cabildo.
Sanlúcar has more than 50,000 inhabitants and is therefore required to create a low-emission zone (ZBE). The draft ordinance was voted down in the council in September 2025, and no ZBE or related fines were in force when we checked. This may change – look for ZBE signs when you arrive.
Use Parking La Calzada and walk five to ten minutes into the pedestrian centre.
Look for street parking in the Barrio Alto. The manzanilla bodegas (Barbadillo, Hidalgo–La Gitana and others) are all within walking distance of each other.
The boat Real Fernando to Doñana National Park leaves from the jetty at Bajo de Guía; tickets are sold at the Fábrica de Hielo visitor centre on the same avenue. Book ahead and allow extra time to park.
Parking La Calzada sits right behind the beach; free bays nearby fill early in summer.

Not that we could confirm. The local police stated in December 2024 that a zona azul had still not been introduced, so street parking is free where signs allow it.
Parking La Calzada, an underground car park on Avenida Calzada Duquesa Isabel between the centre and the beach. It is open 24 hours and costs €2.15 per hour.
There is free street parking along the avenue, but it is in very high demand at lunchtime, at weekends and all summer. Arrive early.
The races are held on six evenings in August (in 2026: 8–10 and 21–23 August). The seafront is packed, so park early at La Calzada or in the Barrio Alto and walk.
Not yet. A ZBE is legally required and has been drafted, but the ordinance was rejected in September 2025 and no restrictions or fines were in force when we checked.
The Real Fernando leaves from Bajo de Guía. Use the free street parking on the avenue if you find a space, or Parking La Calzada and walk along the seafront.
