Street parking in Vic costs €1.55 an hour in the blue zone (90 minutes maximum), and the first hour in the orange zone is free. Do you need a car? Not to reach Vic itself: the R3 train runs from Barcelona. A car pays off for the villages of Osona such as Rupit, the Montseny park or the Pyrenees beyond Ripoll. Vic has about 1,800 regulated street spaces in three colours. The blue zone (zona blava, 741 spaces) costs €1.55 an hour with a 90-minute limit. The green zone (zona verda, 812 spaces) gives residents priority, but visitors may stay up to 2 hours at the blue-zone rate. The orange zone (zona taronja, 359 spaces) sits around the edge of the centre: the first hour is free, then it costs €0.80 an hour, for up to 3 hours. On top of that, the town hall counts more than 20 free car parks, most of them about a 10-minute walk from the centre.

All three zones are paid Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00, except the green zone, which is only paid on Saturday mornings. The long lunch break from 13:00 to 17:00, evenings after 20:00, Sundays and public holidays are free. Pay at the meter with a card or coins by entering your number plate, or use one of the apps shown on the meter. You do not need to leave a ticket on the dashboard.
If you overstay, you can cancel the fine the same day until 21:00: it costs €7.50 within 60 minutes of your ticket expiring, plus €1.50 for each extra hour after that. A fine for having no ticket at all can be cancelled for €12.50.
Vic has 14 paid underground car parks, from Plaça Major (282 spaces) and Passeig (332) to Seminari (250) and Mil·lenari (207). Two of them can be booked on Parclick:

Yes, plenty. According to the town hall, 54% of Vic’s roughly 5,100 off-street public spaces are free, mostly in open-air car parks. The largest are L’Era d’en Sellés 1 and 2 (285 and 217 spaces), El Sucre (276), Zona Esportiva (257), Poliesportiu Pavelló (237) and Avinguda Olímpia (228). All street zones are also free at lunchtime, in the evening, on Sundays and on holidays.
The park-and-ride car park at the station is free too, but from 5:00 to 17:00 it is reserved for train and intercity bus passengers, who must check in twice with the parking app shown on the signs. No car may stay longer than 24 hours.
The historic centre around the Plaça Major is made up of pedestrian zones (illes de vianants), where only vehicles with prior accreditation from the town hall may enter. If your hotel is inside, ask it to arrange access before you arrive; otherwise leave the car in a car park and walk.
