Yes. Streets without blue markings are free. Every year the council switches the blue-zone meters off for the whole of August, and it has also made the blue zone free during the Fira de la Candelera, the town fair held in early February. On Passeig del Terraplè, between Carrer del Molí and Carrer de Miquel Tort, a red-marked lane of 40 spaces becomes free parking at night: on weekdays from 20:00 to 7:00, on Saturdays from 14:00 and all day on Sundays and holidays. Outside those hours it is a traffic lane and parking is not allowed, so check the time before you leave the car there.
Molins de Rei does not appear on the AMB’s June 2026 list of metropolitan low-emission zones in operation, and we found no municipal ZBE ordinance. Neighbouring Sant Just Desvern plans to start its ZBE on 1 September 2026, with fines from 1 December 2026. Barcelona’s ZBE Rondes applies on weekdays from 7:00 to 20:00. Spanish-registered rental cars carry a DGT label, so they are not affected. Cars with foreign plates must be registered on the metropolitan ZBE register before entering Barcelona. Rodalies R4 trains run from Molins de Rei to Barcelona. Because of accessibility works at the station, the first and last trains are replaced by buses between Cornellà and Martorell on certain dates in October and November 2026.
