Key takeaway: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat sits inside the Barcelona Low-Emission Zone (ZBE Rondes BCN), so any pre-2006 diesel or pre-2000 petrol car risks a 200-euro (220-dollar) fine the moment you cross the Ronda Litoral. Use Saba Plaça Europa or Saba Gran Via 2 for safe paid parking from around 14 euros (15 dollars) per day, and skip street parking around Fira Gran Via during major trade fairs (Mobile World Congress, ISE) when blue-zone enforcement runs 24/7.
L'Hospitalet is Catalonia's second-largest city with about 270,000 residents, wedged between Barcelona, Cornellà and the Llobregat river. The Ajuntament de L'Hospitalet manages a four-tier kerbside system: blue, green, white (free) and reserved lanes near hospitals and the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue.
| Zone | Who can park | Rate (2026) | Max stay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zona blava (blue) | Anyone with a ticket | 1.00 – 1.40 euros / hour (~1.10 – 1.55 dollars) | 2 hours |
| Zona verda (green) | Residents free; visitors pay | 1.05 euros / hour | 1 hour for non-residents |
| Zona taronja (orange, loading) | Commercial vehicles only Mon-Fri 8-14h | n/a | 30 minutes |
| White lines | Free for everyone | Free | No limit unless signed |
Blue-zone enforcement runs Monday to Friday 9:00-14:00 and 16:00-20:00, and Saturday 9:00-14:00. Sundays and public holidays are normally free, except in the immediate Fira Gran Via perimeter during major expos – those days the meter beats Sunday rules.
Five paid facilities cover the Plaça Europa business district, the Fira Gran Via venue, the Bellvitge medical campus and the residential Centre district. Daily rates run 12 to 22 euros (about 13 to 24 dollars). Four operate 24/7 – useful for hotel guests and Mobile World Congress visitors who cannot rely on blue-zone street parking.
Directly under Plaça Europa next to the Hotel Hilton Diagonal Mar and Catalonia Fira hotels. 220 underground spaces across two levels, 6 EV chargers (Type 2, 22 kW), height limit 2.10 m – taller vans need Gran Via 2 instead. Pre-booking via saba.eu drops the daily rate to about 12 euros.
Massive open-air and covered lot serving the Gran Via 2 shopping mall (Primark, FNAC, El Corte Inglés). 4,500 spaces, height limit 2.20 m on lower deck. Free for the first 3 hours with any 20-euro purchase, validated at customer service. Useful park-and-ride – L9 Sud metro Hospital de Bellvitge is 8 minutes walk.
Operated by Barcelona Serveis Municipals next to the Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge. 380 spaces, 24/7 access, reduced rate for patients and visitors (request validation at reception). Sant Josep metro (L1) and Hospital de Bellvitge metro (L1) are both 5 minutes walk.
Closest paid garage to L'Hospitalet's historic Centre district and the Tecla Sala cultural centre. 195 spaces, height limit 1.95 m, 24/7. Around 10 minutes walk to Hospitalet-Centre Renfe station (R1/R4) and 6 minutes to Rambla Marina commercial street.
Underground Saba lot under the Tecla Sala library, two minutes from L1 metro station Torrassa. 175 spaces, 1.95 m height, EV chargers on level -2. Pre-booked daily rate via Saba app: about 11 euros – the cheapest secured option in L'H Centre.
Saba Plaça Europa 16 euros · Saba Gran Via 2 free 3h with receipt then 14 euros · BSM Bellvitge 13 euros · Pl. Francesc Macià 14 euros · Tecla Sala 12-14 euros. Saba pre-booked: Plaça Europa 12 euros, Tecla Sala 11 euros.
Four of five are fully underground; Saba Gran Via 2 mixes covered ground floor with open-air upper deck. EV chargers at Saba Plaça Europa and Saba Tecla Sala. Height-limited vans (over 2.10 m) must use the Gran Via 2 outdoor section.
During MWC (late February-early March) and ISE (late January-early February), Saba and BSM raise daily rates 30-50% at all five garages. Pre-book six weeks ahead through saba.eu or Parclick to lock the standard rate.
Skip the search: reserve a guaranteed L'Hospitalet spot in advance, including Fira Gran Via fair dates.
Compare and book through ParclickFree parking has shrunk every year as the city extended the green zone in 2023 and 2024. Three reliable free options remain, all 10-20 minutes from the centre.
The wide service road behind the Fira Gran Via venue, between Carrer del Cobalt and Avinguda d'Europa, has unrestricted free parking. Around 150 white-line bays, mostly used by Fira contractors during expo weeks. Safe daytime, dimly lit at night – fine for short stops, less ideal as a multi-day base.
The Polígon Industrial Pedrosa has unrestricted free parking along Carrer de la Caterina Albert and Carrer del Cobalt. A 12-minute walk to Gran Via 2 mall or 6 minutes to L9 Sud metro Ildefons Cerdà. Empty most weekends.
Residential streets north of Avinguda de la Granvia (around L5 metro Can Vidalet) have unmetered white-line parking. Fills with commuters by 8:30 weekdays. Best Saturdays and Sundays.
L'Hospitalet uses two main payment apps and the orange Mibis municipal meters. EasyPark covers all city zones from 2024; ApparkB works in the green zones bordering Barcelona only.
Free download for iOS and Android. Covers blue, green and the Fira special-event zones. Charges by the minute and lets you extend remotely from your phone. The L'Hospitalet zone code is required at start – the app autodetects via GPS in 95% of cases.
Useful if you already use ApparkB across Barcelona, Sant Joan Despí or Cornellà. Covers only the green-zone strip closest to the Barcelona border (Collblanc, Torrassa, La Florida). Same per-minute billing as EasyPark.
Orange machines on most blocks accept cash, card and contactless. The printed ticket goes visibly on the dashboard. Maximum payment is 2 hours in blue zone, 1 hour in green for non-residents.

Wide streets, blue and green zones around the hospital, plus the BSM hospital car park. Streets fill 10:00-12:00 weekdays during outpatient peaks. Best Saturdays and after 18:00.
The historic core with pedestrian shopping streets. Use Saba Tecla Sala or Pl. Francesc Macià. Street parking is green zone only – non-residents limited to 1 hour for 1.05 euros.
The most ZBE-relevant districts. Cross the Carrer de Collblanc into Barcelona without a DGT sticker and the ZBE Rondes BCN cameras catch you. Park on the L'H side and walk into Barcelona via L5 metro Collblanc.
Some unrestricted free street parking 2024 changes notwithstanding. Best for budget travellers staying in Airbnbs – check with the host for the exact street before arriving.
L'Hospitalet expanded the ZBE Rondes BCN buffer in March 2026 to cover the entire Centre district up to Avinguda de l'Electricitat. EasyPark added contactless validation at every Mibis meter in February 2026, so the dashboard ticket is no longer required if you pay via app. Saba launched 18 new 50-kW EV chargers across Plaça Europa and Tecla Sala in April 2026 at 0.45 euros per kWh.
