How Parking Works in Esplugues de Llobregat in 2026

Esplugues has three kinds of paid street parking. In the blue zone (zona blava) anyone can park for up to 2 hours 30 minutes. The first hour costs €1.35. The green zone (zona verda) is mainly for residents, but visitors may use it by paying the blue-zone rate. The orange zone (zona taronja) sells weekly and monthly passes through an app, aimed at people who work in the business areas. Streets without coloured markings are free. The whole town is also inside the metropolitan low-emission zone (ZBE).

Street Parking: Blue, Green and Orange Zones

Paid parking applies Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 13:30 and from 16:30 to 20:00, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00. Sundays and public holidays are free, and the ordinance switches the regulation off for the whole of August. Pay at the meter and put the ticket behind the windscreen, or pay by phone with the app named on the meter. You do not need to display anything if you pay by app.

In the blue zone, the price rises the longer you stay: €1.35 for the first hour, then €0.80 for the next half hour, €0.90 for the half hour after that and €1.05 for the last half hour. After 2 hours 30 minutes you must move the car. Around the Finestrelles shopping centre, non-residents pay a higher green-zone rate of €3.15 an hour. Blue-zone passes for Finestrelles are also sold: €12 for 7 days and €30 for 30 days.

The fine for parking without a valid ticket is €100. If you overstay by no more than the time you paid for, you can cancel the fine at the meter or in the app by paying €5.50 within 10 minutes.

Is There Free Parking in Esplugues?

Yes. Any street without blue, green or orange markings is free, and so are all regulated spaces outside the paid hours: at lunchtime (13:30 to 16:30 on weekdays), after 20:00, on Saturday afternoons, on Sundays and holidays, and during August. The first two hours in the Indigo Finestrelles car park were also free on the day we checked. If you are heading into Barcelona, the AMB park-and-ride car park at the Consell Comarcal in neighbouring Sant Just Desvern is free on weekdays with a valid integrated public transport ticket.

Low-Emission Zone (ZBE)

Part of Esplugues has been inside the ZBE Rondes de Barcelona since 2020. According to the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB), the town extended its low-emission zone to the whole municipality in 2025. The restrictions apply Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 20:00 to vehicles without a DGT environmental label. Spanish-registered rental cars carry a label, so they are not affected. Cars with foreign number plates must be registered in advance on the metropolitan ZBE register, even if they meet the standard. See zbe.barcelona before you drive in with your own car.
