Rebuilt from the live Parclick listing (C.C. Alzamora from €5.40 for 2 hours, 24 h, 2.2 m), the six municipal car parks and festival dates; removed Google star scores, Google-Maps screenshots, an invented parking survey chart and unverified car parks.

Do you need a car? For Alcoy, yes in most cases: the town sits in the mountains between Alicante and Valencia, and a car lets you combine it with the Font Roja natural park, Guadalest or the Costa Blanca beaches. Alicante Airport is about 73 km away: compare car rental at Alicante Airport on DiscoverCars, or read our Spain car hire guide.

How Parking Works in Alcoy in 2026

Alcoy (Alcoi in Valencian) is a compact hill town squeezed between river gorges, and the historic centre has narrow, partly pedestrianised streets. You have three realistic choices: the one car park you can book online (C.C. Alzamora, from €5.40 for 2 hours), the town’s six municipal car parks around the centre (382 spaces, with live free-space counts in an app), or metered street parking. We could not confirm the current street tariff on an official page today, so we do not quote one: check the meter before you pay.

Municipal Car Parks Around the Centre

As part of its low-emission-zone project, the town hall installed sensors in six car parks around the centre: La Riba, Sant Antoni, Verge Maria, Sant Joan, Sant Bonaventura and Torre de les Maçanes, with 382 spaces in total. Since April 2025 you can see the free spaces in real time in the “Parking Alcoy” app (Android and iOS) and on an information panel in Carrer Sant Tomàs. La Riba was built as a park-and-ride car park so that drivers leave the car before the old town.

The town hall has not published prices for these car parks online, so we cannot tell you which ones are free. Check the signs at the entrance.

Street Parking and Access Rules

Unofficial guides describe a blue zone with meters in the centre. The official Alcoy town hall website (alcoi.org) could not be reached on 29 October 2026 and we found no other official source for the current tariff, hours or maximum stay, so we do not quote figures copied from unofficial sites. Read the meter and the signs on the street.

Alcoy is building a low-emission zone (ZBE) with European funds: a new park-and-ride car park, a reurbanised Carrer Sant Josep and sensors in car parks. We found no official notice of access restrictions or fines for foreign cars in force today. If a sign marks a restricted area, do not drive in.

Moros y Cristianos: Plan Ahead in April

Alcoy’s famous Moros y Cristianos festival takes place every year in late April, around Sant Jordi (23 April). For three days parades fill the centre, streets close and parking is very hard to find. The 2027 dates were not yet confirmed on 29 October 2026 (the regional tourism site gives 24–26 April as approximate). Park on the edge of town or book the Alzamora car park well in advance.
