Parking for Venice costs €29 for 24 hours at Tronchetto, €35 at the Autorimessa Comunale and €45 at Garage San Marco, both at Piazzale Roma. In Mestre, on the mainland, AVM car parks charge €12 a day and the bus or tram across the bridge costs €1.50. Cars cannot go beyond Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto. The historic centre of Venice has no roads. The only road link from the mainland, the Ponte della Libertà, ends at Piazzale Roma, with a branch to the artificial island of Tronchetto. Every car stops at one of those two points or stays on the mainland in Mestre. That leaves three choices: a multi-storey car park at Piazzale Roma, the large Tronchetto car park one stop away by People Mover, or a much cheaper car park in Mestre followed by a bus or tram across the bridge.

All prices are the operators’ own published tariffs, checked on 12 October 2026. None of the day tariffs can be split: 24 hours start when you take the ticket.
A multi-storey car park with 3,483 spaces on Isola Nova del Tronchetto, reached directly from the Ponte della Libertà. It is open 24 hours every day and the height limit is 2.1 m. The tariff is €6 for each of the first three hours, €25 for four hours, €27 for five and €29 for anything from six to 24 hours; after the first day the daily rate starts again. There are 40 bays with chargers of up to 22 kW. A space can be booked on the Interparking website.
From Tronchetto you continue by People Mover, the automated shuttle that links the island with the cruise terminal and Piazzale Roma. A single ride costs €1.50. The vaporetto stop is beside the car park too, but the ordinary 75-minute ticket that is valid on boats costs €9.50 per person, so the People Mover and a walk is the cheaper way in.
The largest car park at Piazzale Roma: 1,906 car spaces at Santa Croce 496, open 24 hours every day of the year, height limit 2.20 m. There is one tariff, €35 for 24 hours, which cannot be split. Booking online, by midnight on the day before arrival, guarantees the space and gives access through the priority lane on the left. An evening tariff of €15 applies to stays between 17:00 and 05:00; it cannot be booked and is not valid on the night of the Redentore or on 31 December. See the Autorimessa Comunale on Parclick.
One hundred spaces inside the Autorimessa Comunale, entered from Rio Terà S. Andrea, priced at €7 for every two hours. Open 24 hours. It suits a drop-off or a quick errand; from the fifth two-hour block onwards the 24-hour tariff next door is cheaper.
At Piazzale Roma 467/F, staffed and open 24 hours all year, height limit 2.10 m. Paying on site costs €25 for 5 hours, €35 for 10 hours and €45 for 24 hours; the online tariff is €45 for 24 hours and guarantees the space. The evening tariff is €20 from 17:00 to 05:00, except during the Redentore and on 31 December. Parking on the ground floor adds €10 per 24 hours. See Garage San Marco on Parclick.
Mestre is the mainland half of the city, at the other end of the bridge. AVM, the municipal mobility company, runs its car parks, and its buses and trams cross to Piazzale Roma. The ordinary ticket costs €1.50, is valid for 75 minutes on buses, trams and the People Mover, and is not valid on boats.

Two adults who park at Park Costa for the day pay €12 plus four tickets at €1.50, €18 in total, against €29 at Tronchetto or €35 at Piazzale Roma before any transport. Neither Park Costa nor Park Candiani takes bookings.
Covered car park at Viale Stazione 10, in front of Mestre railway station, open 24 hours. Parclick lists it from €24 for one day, with changes and cancellation allowed until the evening before arrival. From the station, trains cross the bridge to Venezia Santa Lucia. Nowhere on the island side. On the mainland AVM lists 13 free park-and-ride car parks on the edges of Mestre and Marghera, among them P1 Marghera B on Via Trieste and P12 Favaro C on Via Triestina, next to the tram terminus. They cannot be booked. Two more, P2 S. Maria dei Battuti and P5 Castellana A, stand beside bus stops and cost €1.00 a day, charged from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 and 13:00 and between 15:00 and 20:00. At Parco San Giuliano the first three hours are free once a day if you take the free ticket from the meter.
Punta Sabbioni, on the Cavallino-Treporti peninsula, is the usual choice for drivers arriving from Jesolo and the beaches: you park by the pier and take the boat to San Marco. It belongs to a different municipality and we found no official tariff for its car parks published online, so no price is quoted here. Read the board at the entrance before you leave the car.
The city’s official access-fee portal states that the 2026 trial of the day-visitor contribution has ended and that since 27 July the fee does not apply: Venice can be visited without paying it or requesting an exemption. Whether and when it returns in later years is for the city council to decide, so check the portal again before a trip in 2027.
