Rimini is two destinations in one: a Roman and Renaissance old town, and 15 km of Adriatic beach. In the centre, blue bays cost €1.00–1.50 per hour on working days and the ZTL is guarded by 13 camera gates; behind the beach at Marina Centro, parking costs €1.80 per hour in summer and little or nothing in winter. This guide explains the zones and tariffs, the car parks around the walls, where to park for the beach now that the seafront is car-free, and how to avoid a ZTL fine.

Rewritten from verified sources: street tariffs in force since 2025, the real car parks around the centre, the 13 ZTL camera gates, the car-free Parco del Mare and the free park-and-ride; unverifiable garages, prices and ratings removed.

Tip: if you also need car rental in Italy, our guide compares the operators and typical rates – and a smaller car makes these parking zones far less stressful.

How Parking Works in Rimini

Rimini has two different parking worlds: the historic centre, with blue bays and a camera-controlled ZTL, and the seafront at Marina Centro, where tariffs change with the season. Paid street parking is managed by the Comune di Rimini; several car parks around the centre are run by other operators.

Tariffs in force since 1 January 2025. Zones A and B are free on Sundays and public holidays. Always check the sign in the street: it shows the zone and the hours that apply.

The seafront is no longer a road: long stretches of the Lungomare have been turned into the Parco del Mare, a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists. You cannot drive or park along it – use the streets behind it, a car park, or the park-and-ride.

Car Parks near the Centre

The car parks below are all within walking distance of the old town. Their prices are set by different operators and have changed recently; expect roughly €1.00–1.50 per hour and check the board at the entrance.

Quick comparison

For the old town, Italo Flori is the closest covered car park and Via Tiberio the most scenic approach. For a full day, the Zone A streets (maximum €4.00 per day) are the cheapest paid option. For both centre and beach, park at the station.

Parking for the Beach at Marina Centro

Streets behind the promenade

The seafront sector (Lungomare Tintori, Lungomare Di Vittorio, Largo Boscovich) is the closest paid parking to the beach: €1.80 per hour in summer and €0.60 in winter. The other streets of Marina Centro are paid only in summer.

Free park-and-ride at Via Giuliani

On the southern seafront the Comune has opened a free park-and-ride with 150 spaces at Via Giuliani, with a free shuttle to the beach in summer.

Staying at a hotel?

Many hotels in Marina Centro have their own or partner parking. Ask before you arrive – in August it is often the only stress-free solution.

Tip: out of season (October to late April) parking near the beach is cheap or free, and spaces are easy to find.

ZTL in the Historic Centre

The Centro Storico and Borgo San Giuliano are a limited-traffic zone controlled by 13 camera gates, which have been issuing fines since 1 October 2025. The hours differ from gate to gate: some are active around the clock (Corso Papa Giovanni XXIII and the three gates of Borgo San Giuliano), others only in the morning and late afternoon or at night. Read the electronic sign at each gate – “varco attivo” means do not enter – and if your hotel is inside the zone, ask it how access is arranged.

Paying: Meters and Apps

Blue bays are paid at the parking meters or by phone. EasyPark works in Rimini: you enter the number plate and the area code shown on the sign, and pay only for the minutes used.

Fines

Tips for Stress-Free Parking in Rimini

  • Park outside the walls and walk into the old town.
  • Use Zone A streets for a cheap full day (maximum €4.00).
  • In summer, use the Via Giuliani park-and-ride or your hotel’s parking for the beach.
  • Pay by app so that you can extend the time from the beach.
  • Don’t drive through a gate showing “varco attivo”.
  • Don’t count on Clementini on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Don’t look for parking on the Parco del Mare – it is car-free.
