Oviedo is compact and walkable, and parking is cheaper than in most Spanish cities if you use the right bays. Blue ORA bays cost €0.90 per hour (2 hours max.), green bays are open to visitors at €0.65 per hour for up to 6 hours, and Sundays are free. On-street parking in central Oviedo is regulated by the ORA, with two colours: short-stay blue bays and cheaper long-stay green bays – and unlike many Spanish cities, visitors can use the green ones too. Since 1 January 2026 Oviedo also has a camera-enforced low-emission zone (ZBE). The old town itself is largely pedestrian.

Cars with the DGT ZERO label park free in ORA bays. If you overstay, you can cancel the ticket at the meter for €4.00 (blue) or €4.55 (green) before the next paid period starts.
The centre has several 24-hour underground car parks within a few minutes’ walk of the cathedral.
Underground car park under Plaza de la Escandalera (about 400 spaces, open 24 hours), run by Masaveu Aparcamientos. The cathedral, Calle Uría and the old town are a short walk away.
Large car park (around 300 spaces) on Calle Manuel García Conde, between the Campo San Francisco park and the shopping streets.
Smaller car park on Calle Jovellanos, on the edge of the historic centre.
Underground car park close to Calle Uría and the main shopping area.
Car park at the Salesas shopping area on Calle General Elorza, west of the centre.
For up to 6 hours, a green ORA bay is the cheapest option (max. €3.90). For a full day or overnight, La Escandalera and El Vasco cap at around €14.
Free parking close to the centre is limited, but timing helps a lot.
All ORA bays are free on Sundays and public holidays.
ORA is only paid until 14:00 on Saturdays and until 20:00 on weekdays, so evenings and Saturday afternoons are free.
There is a small amount of free parking near the pre-Romanesque monuments of Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo; it fills on sunny weekends.

La Escandalera or Jovellanos, then walk; the streets around the cathedral are pedestrian.
El Vasco or La Escandalera are both within walking distance.
