How Parking Works in Marina di Massa in 2026

Marina di Massa is the beach district of Massa on the northern Tuscan coast, with a long seafront road (the lungomare) lined with beach clubs. Parking is almost all on the street, in pay-and-display zones set by the Comune di Massa. Under the town’s parking plan, the seafront zones charge €1.00 to €1.50 an hour from 1 April to 31 October, 8:00 to midnight, and are free the rest of the year. The area around Piazza Betti is paid all year. There is no multi-storey car park you can book online in Marina di Massa today.

Where to Park for the Beach

The whole seafront is divided into three paid zones. The further south-east you go, towards Partaccia and the Montignoso border, the cheaper it gets:

Zone 4 blue: Viale della Repubblica to PartacciaCheapest seafront zone

€1.00 an hour, every hour, from 1 April to 31 October, 8:00 to midnight. This is the best choice for a full beach day: eight hours cost €8.

Zone 3 green: Via Lungofrigido to Viale della RepubblicaMiddle of the seafront

€1.00 for the first hour, then €1.50 an hour, same season and hours. Includes the car park on Via Casola.

Out of season (November to March) the seafront zones are not charged under the plan, so parking along the lungomare is free. Check the signs anyway: other restrictions such as street cleaning still apply.

Weekly and Seasonal Passes

If you stay for a week, the municipal plan offers a weekly pass (type D) for €35, valid in the yellow, green and blue zones from 8:00 to 19:00, from 1 April to 31 October, for residents and visitors alike. A type C pass for €90 is also open to non-residents and covers the same zones. Passes do not cover the red zone around Piazza Betti. Ask the Comune di Massa where to buy them before you arrive.

Piazza Betti and Summer Traffic Bans

Piazza Betti is the centre of Marina di Massa and the most expensive zone: €1.50 for the first hour, then €2.00, all year until 1:00 at night. For summer 2026 the town also closed streets to traffic and parking until 30 September: Via Colombo and Via Ascoli from 12:00 to 3:00, and the stretch between Piazza Betti and Piazza Pellerano plus Via P. Rossi from 17:00 to 3:00. Some spaces on Via Colombo became pedestrian space for cafés. Expect similar rules in summer 2027 and park on the seafront rather than in the centre in the evening.

Restricted streets are marked at the entrance. Do not drive past a closed sign, even if your satnav sends you that way.

Getting There

Marina di Massa is about 5 km from the town of Massa (about 10 minutes by car) and about 54 km from Pisa Airport (around 40 minutes in free-flowing traffic). On summer weekends the roads to the beach are slow, so arrive before 10:00 for the easiest choice of spaces.
