Street bays in this part of Lisbon are managed by EMEL and are colour-coded by demand: green is the cheapest, then yellow and red. Until 2026 the hourly tariffs were €0.80 (green), €1.20 (yellow) and €1.60 (red), with a maximum stay of 4 hours in yellow and 2 hours in red zones. In July 2026 the city put forward the first increase in about 15 years (to €0.85, €1.25 and €1.70), so read the tariff on the meter. The colour and paid hours are shown on the signs in each street.
Lisbon’s reduced-emission zone applies on working days from 07:00 to 21:00. Zone 1 (the Avenida da Liberdade and Baixa axis) requires Euro 3 or newer, and the wider Zone 2 requires Euro 2 or newer. Rental cars and most cars built since 2000 comply; owners of older vehicles should check the city’s ZER page before driving into the centre.
