Street rates come from the City of Eindhoven parking tax regulation for 2026 (Verordening parkeerbelastingen 2026) and the paid hours from the parking designation decision; P+R prices from the city’s visitor site. All checked on 22 October 2026.
Eindhoven splits paid street parking into areas. In the city centre you pay €4.50 an hour plus a one-off €0.30 start fee per parking session, seven days a week from 9:00 to 21:00 – Sundays included. Strijp-S, the former Philips factory district, costs the same €4.50 an hour without the start fee. In the residential districts around the centre the rate drops to €2.55 an hour, and outside the ring road to €2.10 where parking is paid at all.
How to pay. At the parking meter (card) or with a Dutch parking app registered to your number plate. Enforcement cars scan plates, so type yours exactly. If you have not paid, you get a parking tax assessment (naheffingsaanslag): the unpaid parking plus €57.60 in costs.
Genneper Parken is a covered car park at Aalsterweg 316, by the sports parks on the south side of the city. It is open 24 hours a day. Parking costs €1.50 for the first hour or €4 for the day, and a return bus ticket to the centre costs €0.50 per person. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. Covered garages make sense when it rains, when you shop with bags or when you arrive in the evening. These centre garages are bookable on Parclick (price shown for your exact dates):

There is no free public parking in the centre: the paid area runs every day until 21:00. Outside the paid areas street parking is free, but check the signs: paid zones are marked at every entry. The low €0.20 hourly rates in the regulation are for residents’ visitor permits only, not for tourists. For a day in town, €4 at Genneper Parken is the realistic “almost free” choice.
Not for cars. According to the national milieuzones.nl overview, only Amsterdam, Arnhem, The Hague and Utrecht have an environmental zone for diesel cars. Eindhoven has a zone for buses and a zero-emission zone for vans and lorries, which does not affect private cars, including foreign-registered ones.
Do you need a car in Eindhoven? Not for the city itself: the centre is compact and the P+R bus takes about 10 minutes. A car pays off for day trips into Brabant, Belgium or the Ardennes. Rental desks are at Eindhoven Airport: compare car hire at Eindhoven Airport (EIN) on DiscoverCars.
