At Faro Airport (FAO) you can park in the official ANA car parks from €7 per day when you book online, or hand your car to a valet operator who stores it off the airport, in the open or under cover. At the barrier the official car parks cost between €9.80 (P3) and €20 (P2) per day. This guide sets out the official prices, the ten-minute rule for dropping off passengers, how valet parking works and how to reach the airport without a car.

You can leave your car in one of the official ANA car parks inside the airport, park it yourself and keep the keys – or hand it to a valet (meet-and-greet) operator, who collects the car at the terminal and stores it off the airport, in the open or under cover. The first keeps you in control of your car and keys; the second saves the walk from the car park and offers covered storage.

Official ANA tariff in force since 20 September 2024, VAT included. Online bookings must be made at least six hours in advance and are charged for at least one day; the price per day is well below the daily maximum at the barrier.
Three valet operators can currently be booked online for Faro Airport. A driver meets you at the terminal, takes the car to the operator’s site and brings it back when you land. You choose between open-air and covered storage, and you hand over the keys.
The low-cost car parks of the airport: €7.00 (P3) or €7.70 (P4) per day when booked online, or a daily maximum of €9.80 at the barrier. You park yourself and keep your keys.
The car parks nearest the terminal: €12.60 (P1) or €13.30 (P2) per day online, €19 to €20 per day at the barrier. P2 Premium costs up to €35 per day.
For a week away at the lowest official price: book P3 online (€7 per day). For a short trip with luggage: P1 or P2 booked online. For covered storage or a handover at the terminal door: a valet operator. Compare the total for your dates – for a week, the official P3 is often cheaper.
You drive to the terminal, where the operator’s driver is waiting at the agreed time, check the car together and hand over the keys. On your return you phone the operator after landing and the car is brought back to the terminal. Photograph the car and the mileage at handover, keep the operator’s phone number to hand, and confirm with your rental company or insurer that leaving the keys with a parking operator is acceptable.

City bus lines 14 and 16 (Próximo) link the airport with the centre of Faro every day; from there, trains and regional buses serve the rest of the Algarve. Vamus also runs airport buses to Albufeira, Portimão and Lagos.
According to the airport, a taxi between the airport and the city of Faro costs about €10 on average.
The A22 motorway across the Algarve has been toll-free since 1 January 2025, so driving to the airport from Lagos, Portimão or Tavira no longer involves electronic tolls.
