The Afonso Cordeiro car park in Matosinhos costs €8 for one day and €54 for a week when booked on Parclick, with unlimited entry and exit. Afonso Cordeiro is an open-air car park with 24-hour security at Rua Doutor Afonso Cordeiro 752 in Matosinhos, the beach town on the northern edge of Porto. It is one of only two car parks in Matosinhos that can be booked on Parclick, and its listing describes it as close to the beach, the cruise terminal and the Parque da Cidade.

How access works: when you arrive, you call the numbers on your booking voucher and the staff hand you an access card, which you use to come and go and return when you leave. A deposit may be charged for the card.
At €8 a day it is the cheapest bookable parking in Matosinhos and works well for a beach day, a seafood lunch on Rua Heróis de França, or a few days in Porto using the metro. Matosinhos Sul station is about 600 m away in a straight line; line A takes 26 to 27 minutes to Trindade in the centre of Porto. It does not suit travellers who need the car outside the opening hours.

The municipality lists six free car parks with more than 2,500 spaces in total, among them a 451-space car park on Avenida D. Afonso Henriques and the car parks at Câmara de Matosinhos metro station, Parque 25 de Abril and the municipal swimming pool.
In the regulated streets you pay on working days from 9:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:30. Sundays, public holidays and the hours outside that window are free and without a time limit. The maximum stay is four hours, and the first 15 minutes are free once a day if you enter your number plate at the meter. The municipality’s regulation does not state the hourly rate, so read it on the meter.

The rechargeable Andante card costs €0.60 the first time. Line A does not stop at São Bento: change at Trindade for line D. Trains run from about 6:00 until about 1:00.
